Tomato is one of my favorite vegetables. I enjoy it raw and as a sauce. After a few attempts, I can confidently say that this is the best tomato sauce I have ever made and ever tasted.
It was the perfect pizza sauce!
Ingredients
Homemade Pizza Sauce
Celery
Pepper Flakes
Onion
Plummy Tomatoes
Salad tomato
Tomato Paste
Chili Paste
Butter
Ketchup
Garlic
Coconut Oil
Italian Medley Seasoning Blend
Tomato Basil Garlic Seasoning blend
Salt
Instructions
First, wash and chop your vegetables. Remove the skin from the tomatoes if you choose to or where possible. Dice one of your plummy tomatoes, a piece of your celery, garlic, and onion, and set that aside (about a half to one cup). Blend the remaining vegetables, tomato basil garlic seasoning blend, and pepper flakes in as much water as needed to properly blend all ingredients sufficiently. Do not add too much water, just enough to blend.
In a saucepan, add your coconut oil. When that is hot, add the diced vegetables, salt and pepper flakes. Let them fry until crisp, then add the blended vegetables. Let it cook until the extra water is reduced, then add your tomato paste, chili paste, Italian medley seasoning blend, and butter. Let that cook some more until thickened (it will start popping). Add your ketchup and let simmer for another five minutes. Overall, this was cooked for approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
